Patrick brings to the District Attorney’s office years of experience prosecuting violent crime in the Bronx and a background teaching New York criminal law—giving him a keen understanding of what it takes to keep New Yorkers safe.
Following three and a half years in the violent felony bureau of the Bronx District Attorney’s office, Patrick continued teaching at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice where he specialized in New York Criminal Law and Constitutional Law for law enforcement. He continues to teach there today after 21 years. Patrick began working as a civil litigator for retired union members and others who have been diagnosed with cancer from exposure to asbestos, which he continues today. Patrick also did stints prior to his work for Legal Aid Society, Juvenile Rights Division, Bronx Legal Services in the South Bronx, and in the New York State Attorney General’s Office, Consumer Fraud Division.
One of seven children, Patrick was born in Washington Heights, Manhattan. His family is from the Inwood section of Manhattan. He was raised in the Bronx, and upon finishing college, moved back into Manhattan, where he has lived – from the Bowery to the Upper East Side to Morningside Heights to West Harlem – for his entire adult life. Patrick attended Manhattan University, later on receiving his J.D. at Pace University. Today, Patrick is a member of The Irish American Lawyers Association, Knights of Columbus and The New York City Bar Association.
