New York, NY – The Democratic Club of El Barrio and East Harlem today endorsed Patrick Timmins for Manhattan District Attorney.
Timmins is the lone democratic challenger to incumbent Alvin Bragg and has run his campaign on restoring public safety to the borough of Manhattan.
“The past four years have created a perception of danger in our borough,” said John Ruiz, President of the Democratic Club. “It is past time for change, and Patrick Timmins is the change we need.”
Timmins’ message of fighting crime both above and below ground has resonated on the campaign trail, and the support has been increasing as Primary Day approaches.
“Bragg’s social experiment – reducing incarceration and ending the prosecution of low-level crimes – is a failed experiment. I am committed to reversing course and eliminating the perception of Manhattanites that they are no longer safe in their borough.”
The endorsement comes on the tail of an endorsement from former NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly.
