“230 Arrests. Still on the Street. This Is Bragg’s Manhattan.”
Manhattan, NY — Following the arrest of serial subway offender Michael Wilson for the 25th time this year — and the 230th time in total — Democratic candidate for Manhattan District Attorney Patrick Timmins released the following statement:
“Michael Wilson has been arrested more than 230 times — smoking crack on trains, harassing riders, and endangering commuters across the city. And yet, every time, he’s right back on the street. This is not a joke. This is not a glitch in the system. This is Alvin Bragg’s New York.”
“Mr. Wilson has four felony convictions, over 50 misdemeanors, and dozens of bench warrants for skipping court. NYPD Chief of Transit called him a ‘first-ballot Hall of Fame subway offender.’ But under Alvin Bragg, even this level of lawlessness gets dismissed ‘in the interest of justice.’ Justice for whom?”
“As District Attorney, I will not accept this. Chronic, repeat offenders like Michael Wilson will face real accountability. The public’s right to safe, usable transit comes first — not last.”
“If you believe that 230 arrests should mean something — then vote June 24th. This city deserves a DA who shows up for the people who ride the train to work, not the ones who terrorize them.”
Patrick Timmins is running in the June 24 Democratic primary to replace Alvin Bragg as Manhattan District Attorney.
